The Burlingame Community
The Burlingame Country Club has created its own special sense of community. They are always striving to improve the center of that community—their clubhouse! They have been working through a 10-year plan to make improvements to spaces within the club. Most recently, that space has been the wellness center, including the fitness amenity.
Burlingame enlisted the help of Country Club members to volunteer on a committee tasked with organizing and carrying out the project journey. It was truly an inside job.
Bringing in Local Experts
There were a few companies the Fitness Implementation Committee at Burlingame considered partnering with to complete the upgrades. Ultimately, they were guided to Justin Webb and the Advantage team with confidence in our experience and strong local presence in the area.
The former fitness facility at Burlingame, while serving members well for years, was minimal and dated. The equipment selection lacked versatility and didn't cater to the diverse needs of their growing member base.
Furthermore, Burlingame was aware that other clubs in the area offered premium amenities and aimed to distinguish themselves and remain competitive with their own offerings.
No Guts, No Glory
The fitness amenity update project was a complete “gut job,” including opening up the space by taking down walls. Advantage Territory Sales Manager Justin Webb played a crucial role in advising Burlingame how to best open up the space. On top of offering insight on expanding the space, Justin had ideas for improving the view and layout to bring the essence of the outside surroundings inside.

Equipment Wishes Granted
It was essential to Burlingame for the equipment mix to speak to the needs of all club members. More specifically, the demographics they had in mind ranged from beginners to experts, plus active aging members. Justin was instrumental in selecting the right equipment and contributed his expert advice from start to finish.

The space is now equipped with a variety of high-end cardio machines, including ellipticals, treadmills, AMTs, StairClimbers, and more, all featuring the latest Precor Gen 3 consoles for an unparalleled connected experience.
When Burlingame members specifically requested a Smith machine and had quality strength equipment on their wishlist, Justin and the Advantage team delivered. The space now boasts state-of-the-art strength equipment from Precor, including a Resolute Multi Station unit, a range of Vitality strength pieces and the Smith machine they envisioned!
Another detail of interest to Burlingame was Justin’s insight and thoughtful approach to storage. Selections were intentionally made to help them maintain a clean and open environment where equipment could easily be returned to its designated spot after use.
Final Touches
Justin's suggestions for customization were another aspect that surprised and impressed the Burlingame team. His recommendation to add custom white shrouds on the Black Pearl Precor Vitality machines created a striking contrast. Complete with Burlingame-branded free weights, these customizations are the perfect touch of sophistication throughout the space. The Fitness Implementation Committee reports that even the architect working on the project was impressed by the personalized accents.
Lasting Impressions
The finished fitness amenity has created quite a stir! There has been an overwhelmingly positive response to the renovated space and all of the offerings within it. Both the project committee and members are thrilled with how the gym turned out. Seeing different demographics using equipment specifically chosen for them is very satisfying for the Burlingame team. One member, who finds a lot of value in the space as an Ironman competitor and athlete, has shown great appreciation for the detail and thoughtfulness incorporated in the final product.
Burlingame Country Club is confident that their new fitness amenity will serve members well for years to come. Plus, with support and resources available from Justin and the Advantage team, they truly have everything they need now and in the future.
