Expresso’s fourth annual Rally for the Y fundraising challenge was extremely successful as YMCAs across America and riders broke a sweat and gathered pledge supporters for their local Ys. YMCAs aim to strengthen communities and promote healthy lifestyles and as a non-profit organization, they rely on financial support to achieve these goals.
Created by Expresso specifically to aid in the Ys fundraising efforts, the Rally for the Y donates $.10/mile on top of pledges riders receive, with all proceeds going directly to their local Y. Participants who raise $100 or more also earn a Rally Badge in their online account and are entered in a drawing to win an extra $1,000 for their Y from the team at Expresso. The top fundraising team will automatically earn an extra $1,000 for their local YMCA.
In the end, 9,559 riders on 341 teams raised a grand total of $250,993.20 for their local YMCAs. YMCA Pierce and Kitsap Counties - Mel Korum in Puyallup, WA raised the most with an impressive total of $28,559.80! Advantage’s YMCAs did really well, with three in the top ten, 12 in the top 50, and 14 raising over $1000 to support their annual campaigns!
