The plan for the new Maureen Fonseca Center for Athletics and Arts at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY, has been in the works for years. Much of the credit for this exemplary fitness center should be given to the Athletic Director, Kevin Versen, who was brought in at the beginning of the process and helped oversee many aspects of the building. The brand new, Gold LEED certified fitness center will be used primarily for phys. ed. classes, while the existing fitness center will be converted into a training room for the school’s athletes. Versen realized the benefits that training on Escape, Keiser, and PowerLift products would offer his teams; also selecting a TRX Training Zone frame as well as Precor cardio and strength for the new fitness center.
Other highlights of the facility include new fencing lanes, a six-lane competition swimming pool, a gym with a regulation basketball court, a running track overlooking the gym, racquetball/squash courts, and social area.
