The River Club Unveils a High-End Sports Complex that Exceeds All Expectations

Nestled on the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Atlanta, The River Club is a gated golf community and nature reserve, offering residents an idyllic natural environment and a host of premium amenities. Their Lakeside Sports Complex recently underwent a complete renovation and expansion, and we were honored to design and install a sophisticated, modern-yet-classic fitness amenity for them. The fitness-dedicated space now spans over 4,000 square feet, including a cardio and strength training space, functional training area, and group exercise studio.
When designing the upgraded complex, the goal was to reflect the modern mountain lodge aesthetic present in the rest of the community. The exposed wood beams, shiplap ceiling, and natural stone accents in the fitness space pair beautifully with new Precor fitness equipment in a chic color combination of black and brown. Our team provided a variety of tech-forward, top of the line fitness equipment featuring high-end finishes and ergonomic design.
Since opening the updated Sports Complex late last fall, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. “The finished project exceeded expectations,” said General Manager John Gerdts. “From the workout facility to the lifestyle shop, the new full kitchen, and the outdoor bar and restaurant. It was much more than our members ever thought we were going to do.” The club describes their new fitness, sports, and wellness offering as one that now “rivals some of the best sports facilities of any private club nationwide” — and we couldn’t agree more.
