When the team behind Meridian Cary and Meridian East Chatham turned to Advantage Sport & Fitness, the goal was clear: create two premium fitness facilities that complemented each community's distinct aesthetic while delivering a consistent, best-in-class workout experience.

A Collaborative Approach

Located in the heart of downtown Cary, these communities put residents just minutes from local dining, shopping, entertainment, and outdoor destinations, including the seven-acre Downtown Cary Park. The park itself has become a central gathering place for the community, with walking paths, recreation areas, gardens, public art, events, and more.

Teresa Boland, Regional Sales Manager at Advantage Sport & Fitness, led both projects, working closely with the development team at Northview Partners and Hawthorne Residential Partners from initial planning through the final installation.

“The development team on these projects was wonderful to work with, which made the design process so much easier. They understand how to make a space both functional and inviting. Their interior design team created a flawless shell for me to work with, and they coordinated with me every step of the way to make sure everything made sense and flowed together in the final product.”

That collaboration was key to maximizing each space. While the two communities have dramatically different design personalities, both were designed around the same principle: a functional, premium fitness environment that residents would genuinely want to use.

Meridian Cary: Dark, Refined & High-End

Located in the heart of downtown Cary, Meridian Cary embraces a sophisticated, luxury-inspired aesthetic. Rich dark tones, warm wood elements, and subtle gold accents create an atmosphere that feels both modern and refined.

Advantage Sport & Fitness carried that elevated design philosophy into the community’s 1,862-square-foot fitness center, while incorporating dedicated space for Group X and Pilates programming.

The result is a comprehensive fitness environment equipped to support everything from everyday cardio and strength training to functional fitness and recovery.

Meridian Cary features:

  • 7 Precor Experience Series cardio stations, featuring 16″ and 22″ touchscreens with Precor Cast, including the highly sought-after Stepmill.
  • Smart Bike located within the Group Fitness space.
  • HIIT Rower for high-intensity cardiovascular and conditioning workouts. Full commercial Precor Resolute strength equipment, including a 4-Station Multi-Station, Leg Press, individual Leg Extension and Leg Curl machines, and Pec Fly/Rear Delt.
  • 7 free-weight stations, supported by dumbbell storage for 18 pairs of 2.5–60 lb. dumbbells.

Despite the contrasting visual identity, Hawthorne Residential Partners maintained the same commitment to fitness quality.
