Fuquay-Varina’s brand-new 77,000 sq. ft. community center is more than just a building, it’s a bold investment in the town’s future. As 1 of the 19 quality-of-life facilities in a broader community initiative, this expansive new build was designed with intention and impact in mind.
Featuring a dedicated Active Adult Wing and even a teaching kitchen, the space reflects the town’s commitment to serving residents of all ages. Supported by a highly motivated board of commissioners who understand the long-term value of a high-quality community hub. This project is fueled by a clear vision. As one of the fastest-growing towns in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill “Triangle” region, (thanks to its desirable location, strong local development, and increased access via the I-540 extension) Fuquay-Varina is quickly becoming a standout destination. This facility is a testament to that momentum and a symbol of a community shooting for the stars.
A Long Standing Relationship
The Town of Fuquay-Varina chose to partner with Advantage on this project as a result of a long standing relationship with John Marcotte, Vice President of Sales at Advantage Sport & Fitness, which began back in 2011.
From the beginning, the Town valued John’s expert insight into space optimization and equipment layout, as he listened closely to their needs. He remained mindful of budgets while still encouraging bold ideas that introduced thoughtful, standout features to each space.
As the development grew, ASF Regional Sales Manager, Pete Rogers, joined the project and continued this forward-thinking approach, building on the strong foundation John had established. The collaboration was smooth and productive, driven by the commitment to create something truly exceptional for the Fuquay-Varina community.

Thoughtfully Equipped, Intentionally Designed
The equipment mix for the facility was carefully planned to meet the diverse needs of the community, recognizing that a public space must accommodate a wide range of users. Every piece of equipment was intentionally selected to balance functionality with broad appeal. Key features include the Assault Air Runner, Precor dual cable crossover machines, and Stages indoor cycling bikes. The Escape functional frame, adds versatile training options suitable for anyone of all levels. This also added functional storage and hints of color to the space. User experience was a top priority, and the inclusion of Precor P84 screens on the cardio equipment was a major plus that enhanced both engagement and usability.
Visually, the space was designed with a clean, sleek color palette complemented by accent walls that incorporate pops of color to mirror the vibrant Escape accessories. Glass elements and mirrors were incorporated to create a sense of openness and energy. Additional thoughtful touches, such as the cardio curb, that protects and organizes electrical cables, contribute to a spotless, organized layout while improving cable management and airflow. This careful attention to detail supports both safety and aesthetics in the cardio area, a specialty of Advantage.
A Big Win For The Community
Since opening in early 2025, the new facility has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Thanks to a smooth construction process and a great general contractor, the project was completed ahead of schedule, with the certificate of occupancy arriving early. The community’s reaction has been one of excitement and pride. Many have expressed surprise at the caliber of the center, calling it “wildly impressive.” Residents are thrilled, and the space is already seeing heavy use. This project has been a major success and we look forward to helping the facility grow and evolve alongside the community’s needs.
